Belize City, Wednesday 20th August 2025: The United States wants the world to believe it polices democracy and wages war on drugs. Israel wants the world to believe it bombs for survival. Yet strip away the propaganda, and what remains is the same blood-soaked truth: every empire bleeds nations for resources, and at the core of the U.S.–Israeli obsession lies oil and dominance.

From the first interventions in Mexico and Central America under the Monroe Doctrine, to the CIA coups in Iran (1953) and Guatemala (1954), the pattern never changed. They called it “protecting freedom,” but the target was always the same—oil fields, banana plantations, copper mines, and shipping lanes. In Chile, Allende was branded a Marxist threat not because of ideology, but because his nationalization of copper cut into U.S. corporate profits. In Iraq, it was never about weapons of mass destruction—it was about oil reserves. In Libya, it was never about human rights—it was about oil contracts. And in Venezuela today, it is no different: the largest proven oil reserves in the world sit under Maduro’s soil.

The Psychopathic Mask

A psychopathic empire kills without remorse. It invents justifications—communism yesterday, drugs today, terrorism tomorrow. It speaks of morality while committing immoral atrocities: blockades, bombings, sanctions that starve children. It brands leaders like Maduro “illegitimate,” while turning a blind eye to Saudi princes who behead dissidents or to an Israeli government that massacres civilians in Gaza.

And what of the messenger? Donald Trump, a convicted felon, the face of U.S. power, branding another leader as criminal. The irony is obscene.

Belize Cannot Stay Silent

For Belize, this is not abstract history. We know what happens when the U.S. imposes its will on the hemisphere—Guatemala feels emboldened. Every time Washington sets a precedent of intervention, our neighbour sees an opening to press its century-old territorial claim.

This is why silence is dangerous. It is not enough for Belize to “monitor” the situation in Venezuela. We must stand with CARICOM and the wider Latin American chorus to condemn interventionism outright.

Oil Is the Lifeblood of Empire

Make no mistake: U.S. imperialism is not about democracy, drugs, or dignity. It is about oil. From the deserts of the Middle East to the jungles of Latin America, every coup, every invasion, every sanction drips in oil-stained blood. Israel is the enforcer in one region, the U.S. in another, but the DNA is the same.

🔴 Final Word:

The U.S. and Israel carry the psychopathic tendency of empire because they were built on it. They call it “national interest,” but it is bloodsucking imperialism. And unless small nations like Belize raise their voices, today’s assault on Venezuela will become tomorrow’s precedent against us.
